Poetry a Good Man

Down the long hallway slept a good man , one of a kind I'd say
He didn't leave when things were tough, we always knew he'd stay
His growl was worse than his bite, he was truly soft at heart
Years went by and times did change, this good man was also smart
Supporting his family, his head high; he stood for think and thin
Never give up he often thought and that quitting was truly a sin
How did I get so lucky? Where did I meet this fine lad?
He'd always been there for me and I've always called him "DAD"
